With Summer well and truly settled in and the new year on the horizon, we start to reassess and look for change. The need for ‘change’ makes us feel like we are progressing, like we are starting fresh. With that comes one of the most asked questions of the Season… ‘What products can I add to my current cosmetics wardrobe, that will give me that ‘change’ I am looking for? Well here it is, a tightly edited, ‘Maxmade-approved’ range of products, that will fit seamlessly into ANY make-bag – and transcend your look into the New Year!
ELLIS FAAS SKIN VEIL FOUNDATION It’s my secret weapon for achieving that Victoria’s Secret looking skin. With a mousse-like texture that glides over skin like silk, the Ellis Faas Skin Veil Foundation is a key product in any makeup bag. A light-weight foundation that has a versatile coverage, giving you full control on where and how much coverage you need as your skin changes. Blend with a brush, and work the product in to the skin with your fingers for a seamless finish. Tip; Take your foundation from day-to-night by mixing a pee-size amount of Becca Cosmetics Shimmering Perfector in Moonstone, in to the foundation before applying. Watch skin illuminate before your eyes!
Give a whole new meaning to the water line of your eye by adding a wash of electric blue to lighten & brighten your eyes when doing a smokey eye. When time is not on your side to blend up your favourite smokey eye, apply Topshop’s Molton Eyes in Blue Lagoon tightly into the bottom of your lashes for a more rock-chick-chic look.
It doesn’t get any easier than a 2 step bronzed smokey eye in one neat duo-pack. Use the lighter of the NARS Duo Eyeshadow in Isolde (ginger-gold colour) to highlight he inner corner of the eyes, and then the darker of the two (copper-bronze colour) to shade the lash line – top & bottom – and put through the contour of the eye to give depth. Light or dark, thick or thin – there is no better or easier way to shade, shape and perfect your brows than with Benefit Cosmetic’s Gimme Brow. With a light or dark shade available, your can thicken, shape and set your brows in place with just a few easy strokes. Simply brush the coloured mascara-like wand through the hair of your brows in an upwards motion. The coloured fibre-like gel catches on to hair, thickening and filling in gaps before setting them in place. It’s the mini eye lift you have always wanted!
I don’t think it’s any secret that Clinique’s Chubby Stick Intense is at the forefront of lips stains. With the ability to moisturise lips, leaving them with a gentle sheen to enhance and make lips look fuller, yet without sacrificing any staying power. Layer Plushest Punch straight from it’s crayon-like applicator for a vibrant watermelon shade to make your pout truly pop – or gently wash the colour over lips for a sweet, softly-bitten lip. This is one of my favourite shades of the Season.
