A healthy, regimented skincare routine to get skin in shape and properly prepare it for makeup is crucial and a sure way to up the anti when reaching your makeup goals.
The foundation to any makeup look is healthy, even, radiant, glowing skin. The best and only way to achieve a natural, flawless look with makeup is to start from the base up.
I read so many articles on achieving radiant flawless skin with foundations, concealers, and shimmering perfecters to enhance, cover and perfect skin but very rarely do I hear about the time that is put into prepping the skin of the models and celebrities we all aspire to look like with skincare before applying the makeup.
Not once in my career have I ever applied makeup for a red carpet appearance on one of my celebrity clients or a model for a shoot without perfecting their skin with a high performance skincare routine first. To avoid this important step would put all my hard work at risk not only with the amount of work I would have to put in but with the amount of product I would have to use and its longevity.
Even skin tone and smoothing the skin’s texture are equally as important as hydrating and nourishing the skin surface when creating a picture perfect canvas. The rules are very simple, cleanse, exfoliate, moisturise and protect the delicate skin around the eyes before starting any makeup.
In my search for the truth and demonstrating that any look is achievable when it comes to applying makeup I have teamed up with my friends at Elucent Skincare to put together a step-by-step guide to achieving a more flawless makeup application while nourishing and protecting your skin’s future.
Special thanks to the team at Elucent Skincare for bring this project to life.
