HOW TO: WEAR COLOURED EYELINER

Top_5_Coloured_Eyliner_Maxmade.com.au

So, how do you walk the fine line of making coloured eyeliner look sophisticated?

Yes, it can sometimes get tricky when it comes to playing with bolder, brighter shades of eye liner. Like when choosing a lipstick, your favourite colour is not always the right option when it comes to dressing your eyes with conviction. To make coloured eyeliner work, you need to pick one that compliments and contrasts with your eye colour.

Unless you’re a wizard in the eyeliner, department keep it as simple as possible by sticking as close to the top lash line as you can ( if you’re more daring and want to try a cat-eye click here). The trick to getting the liner deep in the lash line is to lay the pencil slightly on it’s side and dragging it from the inner corner of the eye to where your lashes end – using the bottom of the lash as a balancing spot. Use a pointy tipped cotton tip to smudge your liner where need-be and/or clean up any mistakes. Tip; A little trick to getting a subtle flick on the end of your eye is to hold the cotton tip just under the bottom lash line of the outer corner of the eye -while looking at your self in the mirror – and drag it up and out.

The plus side to wearing such a playful look is you only need to wear minimal makeup every where else. Stick to highlighting & contouring your skin and wearing cheek and lip stains that are an extension of your natural colouring. Less is more, other than when applying your Mascara of course. There you can go to town, especially if you want to give your eyes more of a Kate Moss, Cara Delevingne rock-chic finish!

NARS St. Marks Violet Eyliner can really deepen blue eyes, often making them appear a vivid shade of purple haze. Elizabeth Taylor was a huge fan of the violet eyeliner trick to the point people actually believed she had violet eyes. Tip; Keep it tight to the lash line top and bottom. For more of a statement look you can do the inner rim which will give you more of a poppy feel to your look.

Brown eyed girls look amazing with Yellow, Gold or my favourite – MAC Chromagrahic Eyeliner (sold in MAC Pro-Stores 1800613828) in Genuine Orange, but they can wear pretty much any shade with confidence. A great contrasting colour is their Navy (Marine Ultra). Drawing out the golden undertones, whitening and brightening the entire eye.

Sephora’s Nano Green Eyeliner in Chlorophyll looks amazing on both green and hazel eyes, making them sparkle, by enhancing the flecks of emerald or gold in your eyes. Their Violet liner (Wild Spirit) will do the same, while the Chocolate colour will bring an incredible warmth and opulence to your look. Tip; Avoid cool/icy shades as they will darken the eye.
