Come behind-the-scenes while I work on the campaign that will front the Australian launch of America’s number 1 body moisturiser… Jergens®!
I first started using Jergens® Skincare a few years back while I was living and working in the States. A celebrity client of mine told me about Jergens® when I asked her what her top 5 drugstore products were. A short-time later I was on set using a really expensive moisturiser on this gorgeous, leggy, American model that I needed to create a really rich, glowy-skin look on – when she pulled me up saying, ‘You know there is a just as an amazing moisturiser as that here in the U.S that is a quarter of the price?” Models work with so many creative teams from all around the world, experiencing all of their must-have products, so generally – when a girl tells me of a product that has stood out to her from the rest, I take note.
So from that you can probably understand why I was so excited to have the opportunity to work on the campaign and launch of Jergens® skincare here in Australia. Not only was it great to work on something that I already believed in but to be asked to be a Australian ambassador! Exciting right? I have to say though, the first thing that ran through my head when being asked if I would accept the offer was… “Finally I will no longer have to stuff every last corner of my suitcases with moisturiser whenever I come home from the U.S!
With 35 pieces in the range – covering everything thing from body moisturisers to gradual tanning products – there are 2 key products that really standout for me when I think about Jergens® skincare and what it does for me as a makeup artist. In my line of work, I need products that work instantly. I don’t have days, or weeks, for a product to take action – and if you think about it, that’s generally the amount of time you are working with when it comes to skincare. When I’m getting one of my celebrity clients ready for a red carpet appearance or a model to walk down the runway or even on set in nothing but lingerie, I need a product that is going to make skin absolutely glow as soon as it comes into contact with the skin. It needs to make skin radiate from within!
When I’m on set and I’m dealing with a normal to slightly dry skin that I need to even skin tone, I always reach for Jergens® BB Body Perfecting Skin Cream. One look at the campaign images and you can see how delicious your skin can look. My favourite moment showcasing the product in action, is during the campaign TVC with Cheyenne rubbing the Ultra Healing Cream in to her shoulders and legs. It physically shows you how high-key the shine really is, as it comes in contact with the skin. Truly beautiful!
