A look inspired by old Hollywood glamour, we gave what is normally a classic look a modern colour twist. Here I walk you through the second look to the David Jones A/W ’14 beauty trend presentation.
Talking on behalf of one of my favourite cosmetics brands Laura Mercier, I’m going to take you step by step through this modern take on a classic makeup.
Step 1; Apply Laura Mercier’s Oil Free Tinted Moisturiser with a small pea size amount of Radiance Primer to your skin. Tip; Blend the Tinted Moisturiser and Radiance Primer into the skin using your fingers. The warmth of the fingers help to work the product into the skin making them become one with each other!
Step 2; To remove any discolouration and highlight the skin, choose a Camouflage Cream that is one shade lighter than your foundation and highlight/conceal. Note; Key areas are under the eyes, along the cheekbones, down the centre of the nose and around the base of the nose. Tip; Like when blending your foundation, work the Camouflage Cream into the skin with your fingers for a more seamless finish & set with a light dusting of the Translucent Loose Setting Powder.
Step 4; Fill in the brows using the Ash Blonde Eye Brow Pencil. Tips; Create small strokes in the direction that the hair grows to get a more natural shape and finish. Note; Make sure you fill in all the gaps and don’t be shy when it comes to giving the brow a little lift in the arch to play on that classic Hollywood shape.
Step 5; Ever so lightly, brush the Fresco Eyeshadow over the lids just to give a little warmth and depth. Be careful not to use too much as you don’t want to over ride the focus of the brows.
Step 6; Curl the lashes with the Eye Curl 3x times before applying Faux Lash Mascara in Black. Note; It’s all about getting a strong curl to open up the eyes and bring attention to your batting lashes.
Step 7; Line the lips using the Deep Wine Lip Pencil before applying Merlot Lip Colour to the lips. Note; Bring a little drama to the top lip by slightly drawing over the lip line. This is what’s going to give you that hollywood glamour feel.
