Make the jump for a fool proof set-by-step guide to the picture perfect radiant skin and feline-flick for any time anywhere …
No matter the season or the occasion the quintessential golden bronzed skin and subtle feline-flick is a go anywhere, suit anyone look. Armed with the right products and easy to follow directions this look can be created in just a few easy steps and products!
Shooting on location and under the bright sun of the Indonesian tropical paradise that is Nihiwatu, I put my radiant skin and feline-flick kit to the test on bikini babe Lauren Vickers, proving this look can work anywhere.
The key to beautiful radiant skin, no matter the season, is how you prep the skin before laying down any sort of foundation or concealer. I start by massaging Model co Face Base Primer into the skin working my way out from the middle of the face and down the next. Tip; I always allow a moment for something as hydrating and soothing as Face Base Primer to properly penetrate the skin’s surface before applying concealer of foundation. Try taking this opportunity to curl your lashes or apply a lip balm.
I really wanted to give my model Lauren an instant, all over golden sun-kissed look to her skin, even though we had come from Winter. To enhance her skin tone and give it an immediate dewiness I mixed Model co’s Luminosity Shimmer Whip into my Model co Fluid Splash Foundation. A liquid gold shimmer designed to either brush directly onto skin or mix into your foundation to warm skin tone and give an out of focus radiant finish. Tip; For every two (2) pumps of Foundation add one (1) pump of Luminosity Shimmer Whip. For best results massage the two products into the skin using your fingers tips – the warmth of your fingers help the product and the skin become one, resulting in a more seamless and dewy finish.
To finish… I contoured with Model co’s Summer Glow Bronzer through the usual spots like under the cheekbones, around the temples, just under the jaw line and with the remainder of the product on the brush I swept over the nose to really lift her over-all skin tone and give the feeling of a long day in the sun! With a soft out of focus luminosity, Summer Glow Bronzer is the perfect bronzer for enhancing all skin tones as it’s build-able and doesn’t catch on the skin’s surface.
The focus of this look is the feline-flick. As much as I wanted to elongate her eyes with the liner I didn’t want to loose that care-free Summery vibe I had created in her skin nor complicate or over-do the look. To maintain that feeling and bring out her eye colour I blended the 3x shadows from Model co’s Eyeshadow Palette in Arabian Nights starting with the lightest colour (metallic creamy beige- in the inner corner of the eye, followed by the Bronze shade over the entire lid and through the contour of the eye lid. To add a little drama I blended a little of the metallic black shadow from the Arabian Nights Palette along the outer corner of her bottom lash line. Tip; Blend as close as you can to the lash line and go only as far as the outer edge of the iris of the eyeball. This will help in giving your eye that classic tuned up feline shape.
To elongate the eyes with a fine, sleek, jet-back feline-flick I used Model co’s NEW Model co Lash & Line –Launches July 6th ’15 with an exclusive pre-sale Monday 29th! A revolutionary 2 in 1 liquid liner and faux lash effect mascara! Tip; To give the eye just enough dimension and length but without making it look out of place or over done up against our picture perfect bronzed skin, I started the liner 2/3’s of the way out towards the outer corner of the eye. This technique helps lengthen the eye while still giving you a wide eyed effect! Note; If your eyes need a little extra pinch try lining the inner corner of the eye top and bottom as far as to where the lashes begin. This will narrow the eye giving more of a feline shape!
To finish… I always double curl lashes just to make sure I get the most out of the lashes before double coating top and bottom lashes with the dual action Lash & Liner Super Lash Mascara to give the eye’s a faux lash effect.
To complement and enhance skin tone I used Model co’s Shine Ultra Lip Gloss in Marshmallow (nudie-pink gloss) to blot out the natural colour of the lips and to add the perfect amount of shine to exaggerate the lip size. Tip; If your lips are bright or quit dark try applying a little of the eye concealer from the Fluid Splash Foundation before applying the gloss!
