Max Made

It’s the Maxmade Order of Australia beauty Awards of the products you need to know and use.

Australia Day is upon us! A day of sun, celebration and fireworks that comes at the perfect time to blow away those post-holiday blues.

And with local heroes being honoured for their achievements via the Order of Australia medal, I thought I would dish out my own awards in the area I know best – beauty!

From pool party to boat party, these antipodean must-haves will get you through your festivities with their characteristic Aussie grit, ingenuity and ease.

This is an Aussie-flag tattoo-free zone… and the MaxMade Australia Day awards go to….!

Medal for Best Australian ‘Luxury’ Product…

Aspects Extreme C 20 Serum

Tackling pretty much every sign of dermal ageing and more, Extreme C 20 Serum is your youth maker in a vial. It’s suitable for ever skin type, with extra love going to super sensitive skins that need a little extra TLC when it comes to brightening, hydrating and firming. Designed to also calm rosacea and pigmentation, the texture of this water-soluble oil remains in sync with the rest of the Aspect range and makes skin feel totally out-of-this-world luxurious. Calm your skin, relax your senses and allow your fingers to glide this smooth concoction over your skin. Delicious!

Medal for Best Australian ‘Everyday’ Product…

Skinstitut Multi-active Mist

Why not brighten and hydrate skin daily around your skincare routine – or even throughout the day to reboot your skin and senses? This is my go-to product to freshen makeup up throughout the day and get that fresh, youthful glow back into the skin and foundation… Try it yourself become a believer.

Medal for Best Australian ‘Multi-Purpose’ Product…

A’kin Rosehip Pure Radiance Rosehip Oil

Now you can reduce the appearance of scars, moisten dry lips, nourish a dehydrated skin, calm inflammation and even take off your makeup with one of the most versatile products I have in my kit: A’kin Certified Organic Rosehip Oil. I use it to plump the skin, highlight cheekbones and even seal the ends after a blow-dry. With its delicious scent and dewy, youthful glow, it is by far the most humble and hardworking product on the block.

Medal for Best Australian ‘New-comer’ Product…

Mr Smith Hair Masque

Nourish and strengthen summer-damaged hair with one of my favourite up-and-coming hair brands! Infused with marula oil (fast-absorbing, super-hydrating), frankincense (to de-stress) and mango butter (a super-nourishing antioxidant) , Mr Smith Masque is super rich with antioxidants and vitamins to calm, heal and protect even the most damaged hair. How do models and celebs keep their hair looking shiny and healthy between jobs? Let’s just say there is a reason why this masque is my go-to hair boost before a shoot or  red-carpet appearance. It makes hair instantly radiant, and is definitely worth checking out.

Medal for Best Australian ‘Aussie Pride’ Product…

Beauty chief GLOW Inner Beauty Powder

Launching six years ago as the first of its kind, GLOW is a bio- fermented, probiotic, superfood beauty product designed to work from the inside out. Mix a little in your morning smoothie or even sprinkle it on your bircher muesli: GLOW is a drinkable tonic that supports good digestion and a healthy gut, which results in long-lasting skin health, radiance and the production of all-important collagen in the skin. Don’t tell anyone, but I live by it (and everything else in their range, in fact).

Medal for Best Australian ‘Underdog’ Product..

Luma by Jess Hart Sheer Lipsticks

One of my favourite products in the range, Jess’s Sheer Lipsticks go on like a gloss (minus the stickiness), yet hold like a stain. Packed full of nourishing oils like avocado, evening primrose and jojoba, lips are being treated and protected while looking kiss kiss kiss-able! With five rich creamy colours, you have treats like a shimmer nude, subtle peach or a berry stained red to choose from. My favourite way to use it is to pat the apples of the cheeks for a sheer, glowy, stain-like-flush. It’s the perfect beach bag companion for that ‘I’ve just been to the beach’ flush (even if you’ve been hiding under the umbrella).

What are some of your Australian beauty must-haves?
