Recreate one of the most talked about complexions of our time in just a few easy steps…
You would have to have been living under a rock not to have seen a VS show and oh’d and ah’d over their signature radiant, dewy complexions. Their skin perfected to a T just screams youth and somehow makes you want to squeal out of excitement every time you see it!
Now, with the right tools and a little know-how this sort of skin texture, believe it or not, is not actually that hard to re-create. No serious, it’s not! In fact, with a little patience and practice, there is no reason why this sort of skin can’t be created on a daily bases – and all in the same time it’s takes you to do your foundation now.
So sit back, relax and read below. xMM
La Mer The Moisturising Lotion
Hydration is key in the search for the ultimate dewy, plump complexion. La Mer Moisturising Lotion is my secret weapon to instantly plumping and hydrating the skin before applying foundation. A super lightweight, high impact moisturising fluid that liquefies on contact creating the perfect canvas. Tip; Massage the cream out from the centre of the face in a upwards direction. In a sweeping motion massage the Lotion out from each side of your nose across the top of your cheekbones and up towards your ears. Then from under your cheekbones toward the ears, along your jaw line from the centre of the chin to the ears and finally out from the centre of your brows in a sweeping motion to your temples. This form of massaging will REDEFINE the contours of your face, pushing any fluid away and get the blood to the surface of the skin. See the difference – you will be amazed!
Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow
It’s an Instagram filter in a bottle. A golden-beige luminous liquid that you blend over the skin before foundation to soft-focus skin blurring fine lines and discolouration while attracting and reflecting light from the skin’s surface for a more youthful, radiant complexion. Tip; You can also blend a pea size amount onto the back of your hand and mix it into your foundation before applying.
Ellis Faas Skin Veil Foundation
A soufflé-like consistency that blends seamlessly over the skin with a velvet-like finish. It’s what I call my ‘Victoria’s Secret skin’ in a bottle! Smoothing fine lines, diminishes redness, and gliding over dry or flaky skin types, this foundation is not shy of a challenge – particularly when it comes to oilier skin types. Tip; Buff foundation over the skin using a foundation brush -I use Becca Cosmetics Limited Edition The One Perfecting Brush– and the lightly powdered ‘hot spots’! These are areas you don’t want to shine, centre of the forehead, under your eyes, end of the nose, centre of the chin and each side of the nostrils. These are also spots you may want to touch up with powder or pressing a tissue on throughout the day to get a longer wear.
Highlight & Conceal
By Terry Touche Veloutee Enlightening Concealer
‘Magic’ should be the Touche Veloutee’s middle name. Retouch and highlight under eye bags, spots, discolouration and all the high points of the face like the top of the cheekbones, ridge of the nose, centre of the chin and even the brow bone to create flawless, ‘highlighted’ looking skin. Tip; Apply directly onto the skin using the brush and then blend the medium coverage highlighting concealer into the skin using your fingers tips in a dabbing motion. Choose a shade that is at least 2-3 shades lighter than your foundation for a perfectly contoured complexion.
