It’s couture for hair. Finally Balmain Couture Hair has joined forces with Net-a-Porter to bring the global market their elegant, powerful and professionally designed collection of hair care and styling products.
The French fashion and perfume house has launched a tightly edited range of hair care and styling products inspired by the backstage antics at their very own shows – thanks to a little help from their hair director who creates the hairstyles worn by the girls that grace their runway shows and face their internationally recognized camapigns. Developed in collaboration with a team of experienced, session stylists and their recently appointed hair director Nabil Harlow the range consist of everything necessary to not only care for your mane but create a workable and desirable texture – no matter the trend.
The Balmain Couture Hair range boasts an impressive selection of haircare must-haves including 2 types of Shampoo & Conditioners -one for Moisture & the other for Volume, Repair Mask, a Leave in Conditioner Spray, Dry Shampoo, Silk Perfume (hair Perfume), Texturizing Salt Spray, Aragon Moisturizing Elixir, Volume Mousse and 2x Strengths of Hairspray – Medium & Strong- that, may I add smell ridiculously good!
All products are infused with the hair-strengthening power duo of Aragon oil and silk protein to hydrate, invigorate and protect the hair on a daily bases. As refined as their fashion the Balmain Paris Hair Couture range is beautifully scented, hypoallergenic and paraben and sulphate-free.
Our favourite picks from the range…
Balmain Paris Leave-In Conditioner Spray
I’ve been waiting patiently for the Balmain Paris range to become available to the international market for a while now- to talk about this one product alone. I can confidently say the Leave-In Conditioning Spray is one of my all-time favs. Designed to not only nourish and protect the full length of the hair but also to condition the scalp to help prevent any nasty, itchy dryness. Hair is left with a weightless shine and healthy feel. Spray from roots to tips, massage and then blow-dry or style as normal. I always use on coloured or dry hair when blow-drying to not only protect the hair from heat but to control flyways and add a more controlled texture when styling. Tip; It’s the perfect all-time Summer essestail – protect your scalp and hair from sun, chlorine and salt. Simply rinse, spray and go!
Balmain Paris Texturizing Salt Spray
Ever wonder how professional stylists get that soft, super-matt yet directional texture in campaigns like Balmain hair & perfume campaigns? Or even in the Chloe Perfume campaigns, which are a good point of reference? Well it’s using Balmain’s Texturizing Spray. Instead of finishing with the spray, blow dry with it! It gives the most incredible pliable texture on the planet. For a more beach-y feel, spray in damp hair and allow it to dry naturally. Tip; Be warned, if your hair is on the dryer side of the spectrum or prone to uncontrollable fly-aways, blow-dry the Texturizing Spray in, then use the Aragon Moisturizing Elixir to control any surface fly-away or rake through the ends to tame frizziness. Don’t worry, used sparingly it gives the hair a controllable texture. Note; Oil expands as it heats up so use half of what you think is enough and warm it between your fingers before adding it to the hair.
A weekly treatment to nourish and protect even the driest and brittle of hair. With rich levels of Aragon & Kernel Oil, this deliciously scented, buttery treatment leaves hair a texture I just can’t get enough of! Simply leave the Repair Mask on for 20+ mins and rinse THOROUGHLY. Note; Leaving a heavy treatment like this after the required amount of time doesn’t actually do anything. Once the cuticle of the hair is sealed the treatment has done its job and should be washed completely away – making sure to get as much water into the deepest part of the hair at the back of your head.
