Max Made

This Summer is all about mixing & matching eye & lip colours. This story is dedicated to choosing the right colour & tone combinations to nail this trend!

Look 1: Theres just something about colour blocking I really love. There’s a real drama and confidence to it , especially when working with warm deeper tones like the bronzy plum palette that I’ve chosen to use in this look. I blended together Stila Trio Eye Shadow, Goddess making a rich plumy bronze. I shaded in the eye from the lash line up high onto the brow bone.

Then under the eye, I shaded in the inner side of the eye, all the way to the outer side.

To strengthen the lash line, I used what I call a push a wiggle brush. Its a flat nylon brush that you apply eye-shadow to and push into the lash line. It creates a eyeliner type look, but is more soft and smokey in finish. For this story, I used NARS Push Eyeliner #2 Brush and blended the darker colour of the Stila Trio into the lash line.

On her lips I used NARS Lip Gloss-Rouge tribal. It is a rich highly pigmented gloss with a metallic finish. *Tip For longer wear, line your lip with a similar coloured pencil. With a darker shade lip gloss like this I only line the lip rather then fill the entire lip in, as it darkens the lip to much.

Look 2: I love the delicateness of the cool toned eye and lip together, in this look. Blending the two lightest shades of Rimmels Smokey Nior Quad over the eye lid and again high up on the brow bone. With My push a wiggle brush, I blended the charcoal colour of the quad into the lash line (both top and bottom).

I colour matched my cheek and lip with a beautiful soft baby pink creme colour. I used Becca Cosmetics Lip & Cheek Creme-Rosebud. I prefer to apply with my fingers to give a softer finish. * Tip Warm your skin up a little with a bronzer or add a warm toned luminizer to your foundation like Giorgio Armani’s Fluid Sheer– gold or bronze, to give your complexion some warmth to contrast against the cool tones on the lips and eyes.

Look 3: A warm eye and a cool toned lip is probably my favourite look for summer. It’s young and fresh. Varying the intensity of the lip colour you can make it your own. In this look, I chose to make the lip the feature.

I used Stila Long Wear Lip Colour, Exhilarating over her lips. I used Amber Light eyeshadow by MAC and paired it up with a warm brown mascara like YSL Volume Effect Faux Cils, Rich Brown. *Tip, Warm brown mascara’s are often looked over they are great from bringing out the intensity of blue  and green eyes and soften darker shaded eyes making them appear light.
