Max Made

Turn up the wow factor this summer, and switch to a metallic eye shadow. It gives both an edge and sophistication, taking you from day to dusk.

Sometimes the most simple or classic colour-combinations are the most effective. Take blue and red for instance. It rings through so many eras and, worn right, can be done so easily.

I used MAC blue Eye Shadow in Freshwater  and washed across Amy’s eye-lid tapering it out towards her temples. There’s a few ways to help blend such bright colours into your face and the first one is to contour the eye with a skin colour first. I often like to contour the eye with the same product I am contouring the face with. For this look, I used Esteé Lauder’s Soft Shimmering Bronzer from their Bronze Goddess range. It blends just as beautifully under the check bones as it does through the crease of the eye. To give this classic combo a twist I added a orange red lip. NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Red Square gives the perfect punch and is super long wearing.

Neon lips are a huge trend this summer and one of my favourite looks. This summer match your neon lip with a cool eye grease or cream.

I used Kryolon Pink UV-Dayglow Aqua Colour which you can wear on its own, mixed with your favourite red or pink lipstick, or like here with something as simple as a clear lip gloss. Eye greases are just as simple and effective. I applied Illamasqua Pewter Liquid Metal eye cream with my finger across the lid. If you want to give a little more staying power and make your look a little more professional, blend your bronzer over your lid and up into the contour before you dab on your metallic eye grease.

I often get asked how to apply bright colours around the eyes and make them look good. Like I said earlier there’s a few ways. You can either add a darker shade into the lash line, or like what I did here, add a black Gel Eye Liner from Model Co which gives the eye some depth.

A beautiful and unusual colour combination is turquoise and purple. Rimmel cashed in and designed Glam’Eyes, State Of Grace putting them in one neat pallet along with a soft silver to highlight the inner corners of your eyes.

Bronze on bronze is like denim on denim, its always necessary. This look makes everyone look radiant & healthy – no matter what your skin and eye colour are. I paired up this beautiful bronze metallic eye pigment from Illamasqua in Incite , with Becca Cosmetics’ Pressed Bronzing Powder in Salsa. Add a bright red-lip to this modern trend, to give it a classic finish. I used Illamasqua Lipstick in Tramp.
